Aero Logistics Helicopters was started in 1999 by a local Newcastle man. By 2004, Aero Logistics Helicopters had grown to operate 2 bases, one at Cessnock Airport & the other at Carrington, in the Newcastle Harbour. They have also built & opened a brand new heliport by the Mayfield Steel River. This was & still is known as the Newcastle Regional Heliport (YNRH).
By 2007, Aero Logistics Helicopters had started to operate a terminal at the Sydney International Airport Heliport. This was used for charters to & from the Hunter Valley’s wine region as well as corporate charters into the Newcastle CBD.
Aero Logistics Helicopters was sold to its current owners in 2017, they were operating a Robinson R22, 2x Robinson R44’s, 2x Eurocopter AS350 Squirrels, a Bell 206 Jetranger & a Bell 407 as well as access to a Eurocopter EC130.
As of today, Aero Logistics Helicopters run a fleet of 13 helicopters across their 4 bases:
- 4x Robinson R44’s
- 4x Eurocopter AS350’s
- 4x Bell 206’s (1x LongRanger & 3 Jetrangers)
- 1x Bell 407
They use these helicopters on a multitude of services from:
- Corporate Charter
- Scenic Tours (Hunter Valley Wine Region, Newcastle Harbour/Beaches & Sydney City/Beaches)
- Aerial Photography & Filming
- Survey
- Cargo transport
- Firefighting operations for the NSW Rural Fire Service
- Flood Relief
- Ship to Shore
- Aerial Crane
