This week we take a look at Aero Logistics Helicopters. Aviation Photographer Jayden has supplied the images and content. His details can be found below.

Aero Logistics Helicopters was started in 1999 by a local Newcastle man. By 2004, Aero Logistics Helicopters had grown to operate 2 bases, one at Cessnock Airport & the other at Carrington, in the Newcastle Harbour. They have also built & opened a brand new heliport by the Mayfield Steel River. This was & still is known as the Newcastle Regional Heliport (YNRH).

By 2007, Aero Logistics Helicopters had started to operate a terminal at the Sydney International Airport Heliport. This was used for charters to & from the Hunter Valley’s wine region as well as corporate charters into the Newcastle CBD.

Aero Logistics Helicopters was sold to its current owners in 2017, they were operating a Robinson R22, 2x Robinson R44’s, 2x Eurocopter AS350 Squirrels, a Bell 206 Jetranger & a Bell 407 as well as access to a Eurocopter EC130.

As of today, Aero Logistics Helicopters run a fleet of 13 helicopters across their 4 bases:

  • 4x Robinson R44’s
  • 4x Eurocopter AS350’s
  • 4x Bell 206’s (1x LongRanger & 3 Jetrangers)
  • 1x Bell 407

They use these helicopters on a multitude of services from:

  • Corporate Charter
  • Scenic Tours (Hunter Valley Wine Region, Newcastle Harbour/Beaches & Sydney City/Beaches)
  • Aerial Photography & Filming
  • Survey
  • Cargo transport
  • Firefighting operations for the NSW Rural Fire Service
  • Flood Relief
  • Ship to Shore
  • Aerial Crane
